
Born and raised in Padova, Italy, Paolo Borraccetti original career aspiration was to become a sports reporter, but quickly discovered his passion for visual media.
Paolo earned his B.A. in Communications at the University of Bologna and later moved to Milan, where he worked as a writer and editing supervisor for the prime time award-winning Italian television comedy shows Zelig and Zelig Circus. While in Italy, Paolo was involved in film production, working alongside Roberto Benigni in the making of the film Pinocchio.
Winner of a Fullbright Scholarship, Paolo has recently completed his MFA in the Film Production program at the prestigious University of Southern California School of Cinematic Arts. Winner of the Broccoli Foundation Scholarship for excellence in Production and of the Phi Beta Kappa International Scholarship, he graduated with an MFA in 2007.
During his time at USC he wrote and directed several short films that were then selected for several American and International film festivals, including Santiago which screened at the prestigious Telluride Film Festival. His thesis film Have You Ever Heard About Vukovar? (vukovarthemovie.com), has been projected in festivals all around the world (USA, Italy, India, Egypt, Spain, Russia, etc), including the 2008 Tribeca Film Festival.
Following graduation, Paolo has been working consistently as a freelance producer and director of videos and commericals for clients such as the Gucci group, Heineken, Youtube, OfficeMax, Capitol Records, Custard Records, and many more. He is currently developing two feature film projects in Italy and in the U.S.
